Gabriel B. Kassaye, a nine-year-old Ethiopian schoolboy in London, has addressed the following letter to British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Dear Prime Minister Tony Blair,
We are on the eve of the new Ethiopian Millennium and it is a perfect time to take courageous steps and return Ethiopia's historical artifacts. We the sons and daughters of Ethiopian citizens in Britain and their supporters are asking the UK government to take a lead and return Ethiopian antiquities.
"The United Kingdom is one of the countries which still hold lots of Ethiopian historical artifact. Among them we find several ancient manuscripts, Ethiopian crowns, tabots, or altar slabs, golden church crowns, gold chalices, several processional crosses- all looted almost 140 years ego following the British expedition against Emperor Theodros of Ethiopia in 1867-7. The following are testimonies from those present at this large-scale looting. |

Where do we come from? Sometimes I wonder if those things in the history books actually happened. Those who existed hundreds (or thousands) of years before now could have lived completely different than what we read about, and just recorded other things to hide what actually went down. or maybe to make their existence seem more interesting than what really was.
Those events, creatures and civilizations that historians, anthropologists, archaeologists, palaeontologists and others have claimed to have happened and lived many eons and millennia ago - who knows for sure that they are even close to the truth? Did man really develop from living single-cell organisms that were produced from the effects of some colossal, galactic gas explosion? Or, did humans just pop up on earth out of nowhere? |

Kyambadde, 12: Bullying is when guys who are bigger than you tease you all the time. They may find you at the canteen, push you and force you to give them money. If I were bullied, I would tell my big brother and he would beat them and warn them not to do it again. All children should report bullies to the teacher or to tell the school prefect about it.
Muyambe, 11: It is when a new comer in a boarding school is teased and abused. One time I went to a new school and the girls started teasing me that I did not know how to dance and that I did not know some words in English. When I went back home, I told my parents about it and they took me to another school when the year ended. Children who are bullied should not answer back. They should keep quiet and report to their parents or teachers. |

Ozone is a blue coloured gas, which smells like garlic. It is present in the oxygen in the air following thunderstorms, near big electrical machines when they are working, and especially high up in the atmosphere. Ozone is a powerful oxidiser which can rust all metals except platinum and gold. It is also a disinfectant, germicide, deodorant and bleach and one of its most important uses is the sterilisation of drinking water and swimming baths. Other uses include preserving food, whitening paper and sugar and the preparation of perfumes and medicines. |
